At a Glance

  • On sale now at SLExchange.com
  • Retails for L$1,000
  • This is already a complete, feature-rich product, but the project itself is ongoing, and further updates are likely; included notecard has instructions for submitting feature requests
  • Comes with an auto-update system
  • Can kill over safe land if the land belongs to you, or to a friend who either owns their own land or has deed permissions for group-owned land. Your friend will need to rez the included Group/Region Interface Device (G.R.I.D.) The G.R.I.D. has options to allow anyone in the group, or just certain individuals, kill over the land. It can also be configured never to kill certain people.
  • Motorized, drum-fed Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) launcher, based on the BACAČ GRANATA AUTOMATSKI 30mm
  • Works handheld or as an auto-tracking turret
  • Fires one or five projectiles in either grenade or rocket mode
  • Projectiles are effective against various shields, particularly in rocket mode - a good deal of testing was done against Sion, proTEC, and PowerShield, and I was able to break them all (although I cannot guarantee that their creators will never figure out a way to become less vulnerable!)
  • Rockets can operate beyond-visual-range (BVR) and are nonphysical, so they cannot be stopped by physics disruptors (like ObjectLOL,) or physical barriers (like walls)
  • Rockets can either fly "dumb," or home in and kill the first enemy detected in front of them
  • In either mode, the RPG-1 can rez a hunter-killer, an orbit/crater device, or both; it can also apply a milder push, if desired
  • Rockets, hunter-killers, orbiters, and tracking mechanism (while in turret mode) use motion prediction to more accurately home in on your target
  • Extra safety interlock prevents accidental orbiting over safe land (this can be disabled, if you really want to do that)
  • Group Safety mode causes shrapnel/orbit/crater effects to ignore group members, greatly reducing the chance of accidental team killing (this can also be disabled, so that the projectiles will try to kill team members along with everyone else)
  • Projectiles always ignore owner
  • All sounds are new and were created specifically for this product!

Details

  • Launcher and projectiles have many options, all of which are controlled through a simple touch menu on the launcher
  • The RPG-1 "Bellend" is fired either as a grenade or as a rocket
  • In grenade mode, the RPG-1 is physical. The longer you hold the trigger, the farther it travels.
  • In rocket mode, the RPG-1 is nonphysical (cannot be pushed or protected against by shields.) It can fly straight or automatically follow and kill the first avatar it senses in front of it. Works beyond-visual-range (BVR), goes through solid walls, etc. The only thing it won't go through is the ground! It flies slowly at first, searching for targets. When it finds one, it warps directly and instantly to the target's position using Keknehv's WarpPos.
  • The projectile (in either grenade or rocket mode) can be set to ignore people who are wearing the same group tag as you, so the risk of accidentally fragging a team member is lower.

  • Projectile can be lethal or nonlethal. On detonation in lethal mode, a H-K (hunter-killer) is rezzed and targets the nearest avatar (ignoring teammates, if you have Group Safety turned on) and follows them until it either kills them or dies from being temp-on-rez.
  • Projectile has a special "orbit/crater" option. If over safe land, it can orbit anyone within 20 meters. If over damage land, it can crater anyone within 20 meters. (Slamming avatars into the ground over damage land at high velocity causes them to die.)
  • The orbit/crater option has an additional "Orbit Safety" option. This is on by default. If you have the orbit/crater option turned on and the projectile explodes over safe land, Orbit Safety will prevent the orbiter from hitting any avatars. This is to prevent you from orbiting avatars over safe land unintentionally, so you don't get abuse reported if you forget to turn it off when you leave the combat area. If you really want to orbit someone over safe land, you can disable Orbit Safety.
  • Can fire in mouselook only, or in mouselook and third person.

Turret Mode

  • Covers a radius of 96 meters
  • In this mode, the GL-1 obeys Group Safe setting, so it won't target/track your group members if that option is selected
  • Firing is automatic or manual
  • Can be set to target owner (for your own amusement - projectiles won't frag you) - off by default
  • Can be set to target people over safe land - off by default
  • Can rez a turret stand - if it's too close to the ground, it will move itself up enough to accomodate the stand before rezzing it
  • Turret stand automatically moves to follow the GL-1, and dies if you delete the GL-1
